Physics Research Center Renovation and Expansion
The renovation and vertical expansion of the will extend the life of the facility at 933 E. 56th St. while transforming it into a building that is more responsive to the future of experimental and theoretical physics and increase opportunities for collaboration among researchers. The Physics Research Center will become the new home for the Department of Physics, the Enrico Fermi Institute (EFI), and the Kadanoff Center for Theoretical Physics (KCTP). This building was formerly known as the Laboratory for Astrophysics and Space Research, or LASR.
Project Managers work closely with Service Delivery and the Office of Civic Engagement to keep the campus community and neighborhood residents apprised of construction activity, and particularly any activity with the potential of causing noise or disruption.
