The Facilities Services summer construction program, started in spring 2018, is now coming to a close as construction projects have completed or are scheduled to complete soon. If you walked around campus this summer you would have seen sections of streets and pavement under construction to complete necessary steam line repairs, scaffolding on buildings to inspect facades of some buildings, and drainage repairs on the Main Quadrangle. There are athletic field improvements at Stagg Field and Jackman Field, and new windows at the Henry Crown Field House. Landscape improvements across campus make for beautiful displays of late-summer/early-autumn gardens that are sure to be a welcoming site for new students and their families, and for returning faculty and staff.
The summer construction program is in addition to the on-going capital program of works which saw the occupancy of Crerar Library by Computer Science and the commencement of the Rubenstein Forum and Woodlawn Housing & Dining Commons during this summer.
On behalf of colleagues in Facilities Services, thank you for your patience throughout this summer. We strive to keep the campus community informed of the impacts of our capital program to inform you how to safely find your way around and through campus.
