The Swift Hall Cloister Garden Received the Merit Award from the IL Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects (ILASLA)

This award is part of an annual process to recognize recently completed projects that exhibit exceptional design and craftsmanship. The Swift Hall Cloister Garden design was submitted by the landscape architects for the project, Culliton Quinn Landscape Architecture Workshop, and was judged through a blind competition by an ASLA chapter in another state. The American Society of Landscape Architects was organized in 1899 as the first professional organization for landscape architects, by Frederick Law Olmsted, the landscape architect for Chicago’s Jackson and Washington Parks as well as Central Park in New York. Illinois has one of the largest chapters of ASLA in the nation with almost 500 members.

In 2017, the Law School Entry Garden received an ILASLA Honor Award for its innovative design and use of materials. Recent campus garden projects that have also been honored include the International House Courtyard, 58th Street Pedestrianization, and the Law School Reflecting Pool.
