Project management services are provided by the Facilities Services Capital Project Delivery group (CPD). Projects range from replacement of window blinds and carpeting to restoration and renovations of campus grounds and buildings and design and construction of new buildings. Project management begins with programming and design and continues through move-in and occupancy of new and renovated facilities. The department also provides support for furniture purchasing and relocation management not associated with renovation and new construction projects.
Starting a Project
Framework for Planning
The framework for planning examines the campus as it exists today, establishes a set of critical questions related to future development and stewardship of the campus. These critical questions in turn create planning scenarios and guidelines that address campus evolution.
Feasibility & Programming Services
Planning and programming services, including feasibility studies, code reviews, test to fits and cost estimating in support of the University’s annual capital planning process, are provided through Campus Planning + Sustainability (CP+S).
Landscape Design
Design of new landscapes and seasonal displays, as well as design oversight of existing landscapes and the Campus Botanical Gardens is provided through CP+S. Maintenance of our campus landscape is provided by Landscape Services.
Facility Standards (FS)²
The Facility Standards (FS)² document is a performance-based guideline developed to ensure that each project meets the following goals: enrich the identity and purpose of the University, learn from our past while being open to rigorous exploration of new ideas, insert operational requirements at design inception, respond to the best interests of each particular project, and promote design excellence.
Furniture Purchasing
CPD provides project management services to support furniture selection, layouts, finish selections, procurement and installation. Furniture can also be purchased directly from selected vendors who participate in our Master Furniture Standards utilizing preferred pricing agreements.
Relocation Management Services
Large and small moves are supported by CPD project managers. Relocation Management Services will assist with planning for a move, hiring movers, coordinating with IT Services, Safety & Security, Cleaning Services, Trades Services for keys, painting or other needs and other University departments.
