The Energy and Utilities Management group oversees the University of Chicago's complex utility infrastructure. It manages the purchase and operation of energy resources and provides specialized engineering and technical services for the campus.
The group is responsible for providing efficient, cost-effective, consistent, and reliable energy and utility programs as well as expert planning and construction oversight of utility infrastructure projects. It also provides professional engineering support and oversight of the University's capital projects which involve centralized systems and infrastructure. The group oversees the management and functions of the steam plant and chilled water plants.
