Construction
Start Date:
June 15, 2009
Completion Date: September 15, 2009
Degree of
Disruption:

The work will be disruptive to usual campus activities. Essentially, the Main Quadrangle will be closed to normal activity during the summer. Many of the well-travelled paths across campus will be closed. In addition, many of the usual building entrances will be closed forcing users to use alternate routes. Trucks will access the quadrangle via Ellis Avenue and 58th Street.

The work will be minimally disruptive to usual activities in Rockefeller Chapel.  The project will cause some degree of noise near the President's House.  Contractor will provide staging area in east edge of Lexington parking area.

Mitigation Efforts:

bullet'Wayfinding signage placed at strategic locations throughout the Quad, its perimeter, and Rockefeller Chapel

bullet'Frequent street/path sweeping as needed throughout work period

bullet'Full perimeter work area fencing to separate work/public zones

bullet'Regular garbage policing during work period

bullet'Safety monitors as needed

bullet'Flaggers as needed for traffic management

bullet'Posted no-parking zones, also coordinated with Community Affairs where public
