Making the campus glow

The University of Chicago campus is lit with 85,000 Tivoli lights decorating trees in the Main Quadrangle, Cobb Gate, and planters and trees near Regenstein Library, to name just a few locations.

Facilities Services oversaw the installation of the lights in the weeks preceding Thanksgiving break, according to Brandon Rux, FS’ manager of landscaping and grounds. The lights came on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 30 and will stay up through mid-January.

The festive lights can also be found illuminating the Hutchinson Court fountain, outside the Alumni House on Woodlawn Avenue and at Bartlett Dining Commons.
